While the Vault's "Hold" may not be necessary for garage-mount or other similar installations (deliveries to these applications would simply fall to the floor), the wall-mount hold is recommended for residential, office or commercial installations for additional security purposes.

Security-Drop Door - US Pat. 6,347,737. As the security-drop door mechanism is opened, a unique security door extends towards the back of the unit, blocking access to items previously deposited and held in the secure storage compartment (or Hold).
Delivery people simply open, drop and go which means more stops per hour
Nicely fits between wall studs (16" centers)
Delivery door is set forward 4" for flush mount with exterior wall.
